Occupational Therapy
What is OT?
OT, or Occupational Therapy, is a healthcare profession that focuses on your day to day activities.
As I like to tell my patients, we are the profession that focuses on the daily activities that "occupy" your time and provide meaning to you. Sometimes that is brushing your teeth or using the bathroom. Other times it is safely walking in your home without falling. Still other times it can be taking part in a hobby or being a caregiver. The sky's the limit and that is why I love OT so much!

What is Mobile Therapy?

Being “mobile” means that I bring outpatient style therapy to you, in the comfort of your home.
Why in your home? There are several reasons!
-
By using your natural environment, I can better guide therapy to meet your needs.

-
In your home, I am not limited by the constraints of a clinic, such as needing to simulate an activity.

-
Being mobile means we can also take therapy on the go. Life does not stop at your door step and so occupational therapy shouldn’t either! By being mobile, we can address any questions or concerns you have in other environments, such as your backyard, garden or farm, grandchildren’s school or events, dog park, grocery store, and even leisure places like a restaurant or theater.

-
Ease and comfort for you!
-
When life is busy, there's now no need to plan for travel and wait time in addition to your therapy
-
Save the energy that you would have spent on preparing for going out to therapy on yourself in your therapy session instead.
-
Have increased privacy by avoiding crowds or others in a gym
-
Limit exposure to larger groups of people
-

Mobile Therapy, is that Home Health?
The short answer, no, it's not the same.

The long answer.
Therapy with Home Health services requires that you go through a home health agency and have "homebound" status.
For those who do not meet Home Health qualifications or do not want to be limited by the constraints of a home health agency, mobile therapy allows you to still have access to outpatient OT services.

Occupational Therapy in your environment is my passion. I love getting to the heart of what matters and where it matters.

And let's be honest here. An environment can help or hinder. Why not work in the context of where you live so that we can make sure the environment does not hinder you but instead lets you grow and thrive?
